Gauteng police are investigating a drunk driving case after a video surfaced on social media of an allegedly drunk police officer crashing into a motorcyclist.
In the video, a man in a police uniform can be seen stumbling around a silver Volkswagen.
A few meters away from the vehicle, a motorcyclist can be seen lying in the road in a white helmet, black jacket, blue jeans and black boots.
The footage also shows a black motorcycle covered in pink butterfly stickers lying on the road underneath the vehicle.
The allegedly drunk police officer is led away by his belt and is handed over to two other police officers. He initially stumbles away from them before he is shown to a police vehicle, marked as one belonging to the Pretoria West police precinct.
The police officer then climbs into the back seat and covers his face.

Gauteng police said they had "noted with disappointment" a video on social media in which a "drunk off-duty member in uniform hit a civilian with his private vehicle".
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela condemned the "irresponsible and disgraceful behaviour in the strongest terms".
"A criminal case of drunk driving and an internal case in terms of the disciplinary regulations are instituted against the member and he will face the consequences of his actions," Mawela said.
