Green Paper on Marriages states that the current marriage act is discriminatory

The Home Affairs department published the landmark 67-page policy document. In the document the department states it seeks to create a new marriage act that will allow all in the country to conclude recognised, legal marriages. This also includes marriages where women can have more than one husband, citing that this will ensure equality. In the next half hour, Lukhona Mnguni speaks to Sihle Mthiyane, Chief Director for Policy at the Department of Home Affairs and looks at the policy document and how it will progress society in the pursuit for equality.
